Training courses

Childcare first  aid courses cover the following topics.

  • Cardiopulmonary resuscitation for adolescent and adult patients
  • Automated external defibrillator training for adult and adolescent subjects
  • Cardiovascular system and Respiratory system Childcare Detection and Control
  • Acute Medical and Environmental Emergencies

All training courses are inclusive of basic first aid and AED training. AEDs are machines that deliver needed shock to restart the heart during cardiac arrest.

Stand-alone classes are also available for trainees who do not want to enrol in the full training course. Stand-alone classes on basic first aid for adults and children, pet first aid, food safety, and many more are available for enrolment.

Workplace Approved Certification

Trainees who are able to finish a training course are awarded a workplace approved certificate for childcare first aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and automated external defibrillation (AED) training, valid for three years throughout Canada.  Refresher courses for expiring or near-expiry certificates are available at Hamilton First Aid as well.
