Lethbridge First Aid’s child care first aid program is completed in two days, with 18-20 class hours. The curriculum focuses on injuries and illness of children, infants, and toddlers. Basic first aid is the core topic of the program, teaching trainees wound care, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), automated external defibrillation (AED), and emergency medical services (EMS).

The following are required to pass a class:

  • At least 75 percent on the written exam
  • Good demonstration of skills
  • Complete attendance

Private training

Certification

Certificate cards are awarded to students who complete and pass the class. Students can request wall-mount sized certificates as well. These certificates are only valid for three years, but can be used throughout Canada for whatever purpose it may serve the student.
