The 2010 Basic Life Support (BLS) guidelines by the American Heart Association is used as the core for CPR training. The trainees are assured of getting only the latest training for first aid, CPR, and AED. “Push hard and fast” on the center of the chest is one of the main techniques taught during skill development.
Students can enrol in three different levels of CPR: A, C, and HCP. All levels include training for adult victims, but only C and HCP have training for pediatric CPR, AED, and first aid.
Winnipeg First Aid offers the cheapest courses in the area. No other training service provider has more competitive rates than Winnipeg First Aid. Rates are inclusive of taxes, certificates, and workplace approved registration fees, as well as training manuals and equipment. Trainees are assured of no extra expenses during training. Full refunds are given to trainees who do not finish the course, provided they give a 72-hour notice. The following are the course prices (all prices are inclusive of tax and training manuals):
- Standard first aid and CPR level “A”, “C” or “HCP” – 114.99
- Emergency first aid and CPR level “A”, “C” or “HCP” – 78.99
workplace approved certification
All CPR training courses are workplace approved certification programs, so trainees who are able to complete a course are given a certificate valid for three years throughout Canada. Renewal of expiring or near-expiry certificates can be done through refresher courses offered twice at the Osborne training location.
Trainees who are unable to enrol in a regular class schedule can choose a private class. Big groups and companies who request a separate class and schedule can also enrol in a private class. Training sessions away from the training centres may be requested for special company events.
Winnipeg First Aid has the most high-end training facilities equipped with the latest technology in first aid training. The classrooms are well-maintained and spacious to provide the best training environment. The main training centres are easily accessible, within walking distance to public transportation and restaurants.
Still not convinced? Here’s a sample lesson on bandaging.
One of the most useful items in a basic first aid kit is a triangle bandage, or a triangle-shaped cloth made of linen or cotton. Triangle bandages can be used to immobilize injuries or keep dressings in place. A basic workplace first aid kit should have at least four triangle bandages.
